Transliving is the furniture and home decor sub-business unit of PT. Trans Retail Indonesia. One of the campaigns we collaborated with our sister company MegaZip is the Best Deal Ever programme – where a minimum downpayment of only Rp 28.000 (USD 1.75) is required for customers to cash and carry furniture products using MegaZip as their instalment plan.
Transliving aims to appeal to SES B consumers, and such Indonesians tend to prefer the modern and chic up-scale look for furniture products. However, such items often come at a premium being imported, and Transliving aims to fill the supply gap with affordable products catering to such looks.
Many Indonesians aspire for lives of socialites, and we created the following video to promote Transliving’s and Megazip’s Best Deal Ever campaign in February 2019.

We aimed to attract viewers through the use of screwball humour – exaggerated actions and expressions being sped-up with an accompanying comedic background music. In particular, we created a comic relief character through “Jono” – the domestic helper of the main socialite – who features in the ending gag with the main socialite by pulling the couch with her on it.
The video was then uploaded onto our Instagram channel, supported by dissemination via Whatsapp Groups and shown on store TVs.
Best Deal Ever ended up attracting 26,208 organic views on Instagram during the promotional period in February 2019, which contributed to Rp. 438,000,000 (USD 27,637) in sales.
